If I Could
If I could see into the future,
Like all those psychics claim to see,
Something would be lacking
Deep inside of me.
If I could be a doctor
And cure the world of sickness,
I'd be a hero like no other
Wouldn't you think, my brother?
But something is still lacking.
If I could be a writer
I would write about the world,
Its ups and downs
Its wrongs and rights,
But still life must go further.
If I could win the lottery
And help all those in poverty,
My life would not be complete
Even if I completed that feat.
If I could be like Christ
Truthful, Meek, and Nice;
That would fill any lacking space
With love and hope in its place.
If I could, I would;
And since I can,
I WILL.
